summer so far

June flew by so fast. I finished school in early June, but took some trainings and a class that has kept me busy with work stuff all month!

We went to Golden Gate Fields for Brian's Birthday. If you have been there,GO!  It is a lot of fun, especially on Sunday Dollar Days (dollar beers, dogs, soda, etc.). I made the mistake to assume that because it was in Berkeley, "they must have veggie dogs!" Needless to say they didn't, and I had to fork over 6.95 for a mediocre cheese pizza. Best part of the day was seeing the kids play together.

We started getting a CSA Box from Two Small Farms, and it is like Christmas every Thursday. It is exciting to get a huge bounty of organic produce each week and we enjoy planning our week's meals around it. This meal was a summer squash pizza, Chanteney Carrot and Ginger soup and a strawberry and red leaf lettuce salad.

This was the cutest thing ever. Siena was showing us how she walks really well with her walker and then Grace spontaneously helped push. Siena could barely keep up as bulldozer Grace pushed the walker!

the best photo we could capture with the babies and grandpa and grandma

As you know, Grace LOVES Simon and he, well, is none too fond of her. She chased him to the kitchen when we arrived and said, "I love you Simon." as he hissed at her and ran away.

May

More craziness on the rug

We are still here..

Yikes! It has been three months since a post, and no I have not given up on the blog. Our computer was having some issues and we finally fixed it and it is up and running as fast as ever.

I can't possibly summarize two months in a blog (you know how wordy I can be), so I will post a few pictures and let them do most of the talking.

Grace's new favorite words:
yellow, pretty, puppy, wipes, mine (we don't particularly enjoy this one), uppies, tea, Elmo, peepees, and bottle (she now refers to her sippy cup as bottle and her milk as wawa)
Grace's current favorite books (although she is fickle and this can change at any moment):
Ten in the Bed, Goodnight Gorilla, We're Going on Bear Hunt, and Pat the Bunny
Grace's favorite activities:
eating, petting dogs, coloring, going to the park, carrying around bags and cleaning (yes, she cleans up her messes and helps dust, vacuum, swiffer and wipe up spills).

Grace loves all things pretty and will use that word to describe a number of things: a flower, a necklace, lace, a dress, etc.

Sunday girls day out with baby Shea
St. Patrick's Day dinner: Colcannon with panfried white beans and kale.

Meghan's first birthday at Midtown Terrace Playground. The Merry-go-Round was Grace's favorite thing!

My folks came for a visit in April. We went to Temescal Park in Oakland and Grace got to put her feet in the water.  We had a wonderful lunch in Rockridge at Wood Tavern.  The best part of the visit (sorry Mom and Dad),was getting to go out to a dinner party with friends. A child free social engagement! Heaven!

Grace with Grandpa. She was shy to walk on the sand in her bare feet, so he had to help her.

She loves birds and "dush" (ducks)

How many people does it take to keep Grace out of the water?

All dressed up for Easter. It happened to be raining that day so we celebrated indoors.

Grace went to Alaia's first birthday at Gymboree. She had never been there and let em tell you, she was on cloud 9. She had so much fun!

 Already likes older men!
We finally got Grace a rug for her room. The hard wood floors were so difficult for her to feel comfortable playing on. The day that it was delivered she laughed non stop and for the next few weeks proceeded to do log rolls all over the rug and run around in circles laughing.
