Gracie has dropped off a lot in her weight and height, but her big noggin has remained the same.
Grace celebrated her First Birthday on Sunday, and she had a grand ole time. Here are some of our current favorite things about Grace:
-Grace gets super excited when she sees any animal- bird, dog, squirrel, etc. and will say "da, da, da. hu, da." She spots them on the TV and outside before we ever do.
-Grace loves new things and people and is most happy when she is around others. Grocery shopping is her favorite.
-Grace is a wonderful eater. She will eat anything on her plate. She likes all kinds of greens, grains, cheeses and beans. Although Grace is a great eater, she obviously has her favorites. Her favorite meal is a fritata- She will gladly eat anything inside there so I usually try to put things that she isn't too keen on in there. Her favorite fruit is a banana- she has been known to eat a whole one on her own. We are so surprised that Grace went down a percentile in her weight because she really eats like an adult for most of her meals.
-Grace LOVES book and reading. We read to her each night and no matter now tired or grumpy she is, she perks up for her book. We have books in her toy basket downstairs and we have caught her reading books by herself. We are so happy that she enjoys reading as much as we enjoy reading to her.
Current Words: uh oh, nana (banana), da (dog). It is so hard to know what things are actually words or just babbles, as she says mama and dada, but doesn't always point to us as she says them She understands so much more each day. She knows clap, come here, more, hi and bye and her least favorite word, no. We really need to get on the baby signing.
We couldn't resist how cute this outfit is! A puma sweat suit that has cropped leggings!
Grace loves bananas, so the obvious Halloween choice would be a monkey. When we went to the store to pick out Halloween costumes, Grace saw the monkey costume and she started panting like a puppy and flapping her hands. She laughed when I took it off the rack.My First Cupcake
Bath time after Grace's first birthday! We headed to Roseville, for Gerrett and Cindy's wedding over Labor Day weekend. The wedding was so special and intimate. Gerrett and Cindy wrote their own vows, which were so sweet and touching. We hope they enjoyed their honeymoon in Jamaica!
It was the first overnight trip we spent as a couple without Grace. It wasn't difficult until it was morning and I didn't get woken up by my sweet baby. We got on the road early in anticpation of seeing our little one and to avoid traffic. They closed the bay bridge for repairs on Labor Day, so it changed our traveling plans quite a bit. We made a bad decision on our way there and took a route through the city (big, huge mistake). It took us 1 hour and 45 minutes just to get from San Bruno to the Golden Gate Bridge (normally this would take 20 minutes)! We were so thankful we had allowed lots of time to get there, or we might have missed the ceremony. We had only a few minutes to put our clothes on and look presentable, though. We were glad the ride home was much quicker. These days, we have reverted back to our old selves and forget to take pictures. Here are a few:
